Fishers

Overview

Fishers are the closest related to the Nioqim's ice age ancestors and the basal form from which all modern Nioqim evolved. They can grow to immense sizes and boast impressive manes of long sensory filaments. They're adept swimmers, with flexible torsos and muscular tails. On land, however, their stocky proportions and short legs make walking awkward. Fishers in a bipedal posture often lean back on their tails like a third leg.

The majority of Fishers are oceanic nomads that perform odd jobs and manual labor, though this had led to the stereotype of Fishers being poor and uneducated among the Tirigajzari Draquens. Those that do live on land often have to wear back and foot braces to cope with the long periods out of water.
