Numbers

While most of the articles on Nioqimo are written from an in-universe perspective, I'll break character to explain how Nioqim numbers work for my fellow humans.

The Nioqim have four fingers on each hand, thus using an octal or base-8 system. Our octal is their decimal, and our decimal is their base-12. The numbers 8 and 9 do not exist—or well, they do, but they're written as 10 and 11 respectively. Any numbers mentioned throughout the Nioqim pages are based in an octal system, as well as the Nioqim's unique system of measurements shown below.

For the ease of human readers, mousing over these numbers on any Nioqim page will show their equivalent in our decimal system.
